Walkthrough - Creating and sending a Push Notification

Follow

In this help article, we will cover examples of Push Notifications, how to design one, and how to schedule one.

How can Push Notifications be used?

Push Notifications can be used to send your clients general information or to promote your business. Here are a few examples:

  • Special promotions
  • Closed business days
  • Events
  • Lost/found items
  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Open slots for classes/enrollments/events
  • Inspiration/motivation

Building a Push Notification in the HealCode Manager

To access the Design page of the Manager, login to HealCode, go to "Mobile Apps" in the top navigation, go to "Mobile Apps" again and then to "Push Notifications". Click "Design a promotion".

In this screen, you can add text, images, and links. Here, we have designed a 'Push Notification' Push Notification.

You can change the background color, the text color, the font weight, and text decoration.

You can add a hyperlink that will send your clients to their device's web browser. For example, you can link to a Pricing page on your website or to a Schedule page.

When you add an image, you have the choice of uploading it to the server or linking to an image online. Be sure to adjust the image's width and height.

Make sure you save the design when you are finished!

Designing a Push Notification in an image editor

If you are more comfortable using an image editor, you can create the Push Notification in the editor and upload it as a background image.

In our example, we used Pixelmator.

First, you will need to create a new document with a width of 320 pixels and a height of 480 pixels. Then, you can design the image and export it as a .png file.

In the Design screen in the HealCode Manager, you would upload the image by clicking "Upload background image".

Scheduling a Push Notification

  1. Click Mobile Apps at the top of the page
  2. Choose Push Notifications from the drop-down menu
  3. Click the Schedule a notification button
  4. Enter the main message of the notification, the date, the time, and the design you want to use

Result

Congrats! Your Push Notification is designed and scheduled!
